Nihari

Description

A rich and aromatic slow-cooked beef stew, Nihari is one of the crown jewels of Mughlai cuisine. Traditionally served as a hearty breakfast, it has become a staple for special dinners and festive occasions due to its deep flavors and tender meat. The name “Nihari” comes from the Arabic word “Nahar,” meaning “morning.”

The dish is cooked overnight on low heat, allowing the spices to infuse the meat with a velvety, spicy gravy. The result is melt-in-your-mouth meat bathed in a luscious sauce that pairs perfectly with naan or steamed rice.

Nihari is garnished with fresh ginger, green chilies, and lemon juice for an added punch, making every bite both indulgent and invigorating.
